Raccoon Control

You’ve seen their glowing eyes at night and their destruction in the morning. Trash cans tipped over, garbage strewn everywhere, dens under your home - such are the habits of raccoons.

Living Habits:
Raccoons normally live near streams, lakes and other bodies of water and prefer to hole up in secure shelters such as trees, abandoned dens, attics, chimneys or underneath porches. They are nocturnal animals and usually forage for food at night and sleep with their families during the daytime.

Appearance:
An adult raccoon weighs anywhere from 12-25 pounds and can be up to 3 ½ feet long. They are easy to recognize because of their ringed tail and black face “mask”.

Diet:
Besides eating out of your garbage can, raccoons primarily eat insects, fish, shellfish and frogs during the warm seasons and fruits, berries, nuts and grains during the cold months.

Breeding:
Females have only one litter a year. In the wild, raccoons can live for up to eight years.

• Live Trapping: Humanely lure the raccoon into a cage with a food-based bait and set it free far away from your home.
