Earwig Control

These centipede-related insects will make you squirm and jump away from the floor with surprising speed, even though they are completely harmless.

Living Habits:
Earwigs are primarily nocturnal insects feeding at night. They are scavengers, eating dead insects and decomposed or living plant material. They prefer dark and damp areas and can overpopulate quickly and spill onto your carpeting. Strangely, some earwigs are attracted to light.

Appearance:
Most earwigs are recognizable with their pincers (harmless to humans) at the ends of their abdomen. They are reddish-brown and about 5/8 inch long.

Diet:
Earwigs are scavengers and will eat anything dead from insects to plant material like mulch, straw and leaf litter.

Breeding:
Females reproduce up to 60 eggs in one season, and most species have one generation a year.
